(Re) Establishing The Oneness of God - Tawheed, Shema

Say: He God is One (Quran 112:1)

I am the Lord ('Aniy Yahweh.), and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded (surround) thee, though thou hast not known me:(Isaiah 45:5)

Say: Surely! my worship and, my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the Worlds. He hath no partner. This am I commanded, and I am first of those who surrender (unto Him). (Quran 6:162-163.)

The Shema:
Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (Deut 6:4-5)

The First Commandment:

"I am the Lord thy God.... Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

"And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Ex. 20:1-3.

It is our goal to establish the truth about the Messiah, Jesus, and to show that he was really the son of a man. That God The Almighty is One, the only One worthy of being worshipped. He has no associates, He has no Begotten son and nothing is like the likeness of The Creator and Lord of the Universe.

Through the years, man has held the concept that there is a superior being and has sought knowledge of that being and even ascribed partners and associates to Him. Mostly it was to establish dominance over their surroundings and the people around. We have accepted what is called Revelations and compiled them into books which we read. It is from some of these books that we intend to produce evidence of the fact that:

  • There Is Only One God, The Almighty
  • His methods of dealing with his creation is Consistent
  • Man Begets Man and The Almighty God has no Begotten Son
  • The Messiah Jesus (Isa, Yeshuah) was the descendant of David
  • The Messiah Jesus (Isa, Yeshuah) was Begotten of a Woman and a Man
  • The Bible and The Qur'an points out that the fact that Jesus (Isa) had a father who is known as John (Yahya, Yochanan, Hanna, Yuhannaa).

Before you let your belief and emotions cloud your reasoning and judgment, I would urge you to look at the evidence presented and judge for yourself with your intellect which your Lord has given to you. You are responsible for your belief. God, The Almighty has said that You shall not ascribe to him any partners or craven image and that might as well the heavens and the earth crumble than He should have a son. (Qur'an 19:88-92).

Biblical Evidence
John's Purpose
John's purpose in this world was to "Pave the way for the coming of Jesus". If John was only six months older than Jesus, then why is there a need for such a person to be in existence, particularly since The Almighty had to intervene to create John from an old man and a barren woman (Zachariah and Elizabeth).
To whom the Word of God Came
"...is it not written in your law, I said ye are gods ; If He called them gods unto whom the word of God came, say ye of me I blasphemest because I said, I am the Son of God?" (John 10:35)

Jesus' only defense against the charge of blasphemy when he claimed to be the son of god was; according to the Jewish Laws (Psalms 82:6), those to whom the Word of God came, such were called gods. The Word of God came unto John. (Luke 3:2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.)
Father passes control to Son
John passes the baton to Jesus: "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30; "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand." John 3:35. See the Nazarene Gospel for a clearer picture of the context of what was said at this event. There, it is recorded that this was at the marriage ceremony of Jesus.
Testimony of Two MEN
In the Gospel of John (John 8:16-19), Jesus testifies that He and the father that sent him, two men, suffices as witness according to Jewish Law (Deut 19:15).
8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. (See Deut 19:15)
8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. (Note: The Testimony of TWO MEN, Jesus and the Father that sent him)
8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
Seed of David (Root & Branch)
Jewish tradition and Old Testament Prophecies stipulated that the Messiah should come from the offspring of Jesse and King David (Mochiac ben David). Psalms 132:11; John 7:42. In the Gospel of Luke, The Angel Gabriel relates "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:" Luke 1:32
Fruit of David's Loin
According to the Flesh
Acts 2:29 "Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David,... 2:30 ...that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne."

Quranic Evidence

Like the creation of Ishmael, the son of Abraham, Allah specially intervened in the creation of John (Yahya). This name was given to him by Allah in the Quran. Yahya's Jewish name was Yochanan. The Quran refers to a Hanaan in 19:13 and never uses the word again. However, three times the words Rohanaa is used and all refers to that which made Mary pregnant (19:17; 21:91; 66:12). Consider this, the Quran by definition means 'A Recitation', listen to the sound of the words in the mentioned verses (ayahs) and compare it to Jewish name of Yahya (John). Here are some of the facts that the Quran states that are contrary to the belief of the majority of Muslims who claims that Jesus did not have a father:

Man Created from Alaq
The First revelation to the The Holy Prophet Muhammad states that man was created from Alaq, Quran 96:1-2. The Process of Alaq requires a Nutfah (a sperm) (Quran 22:5, 40:67) that comes from a man (86:5 - 7). Alaq is the union of a sperm and an ovum to form a Zygote that clings or hangs on to the walls of the womb. (see Part 01 Page 19 for more details)
Zachariah Prayer
Zachariah prayed for someone to inherit the posterity of Jacob, not to be childless or to have that child have no offspring. (Quran 19 :4- 6). 3:38, 21:89. From a Biblical point of view see Luke 1:32-33.
Descendants of the other
Quran 3:33 . "Surely Allah chose Adam and Noah and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations. 34 . Offspring one of the other; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing." This statement in The Quran and others like it, indicates that Messengership (Prophets), were chosen from a particular lineage of MEN. If Jesus is a messenger of Allah, then from which of these men was he a descendant of?
Prophets: wives, offspring
All prophets were promised offspring "We did send messengers before thee and appointed for them wives and children." (Quran 13:38 ). "And Zakariya and John and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of the righteous." (Quran 6:85). Muslims claim that Jesus must return to fulfill this statement. The question that follows is, since John was decleared a Messenger, will he also return?
God's Law, of Pairs
Allah says in the Quran, that for him to have a son, He needs a Sahiba (Quran 6:101), Mary says "How can I have a son when no man has touched me" (19:20). Is Mary greater than Allah? Your first reaction would be to say that God can do anything, but, look what God himself says in 6:101. He stipulates that there must be a condition under which he can have a son (not my law or your law, His Law).
The likeness of Adam
Quran 3:59 states "Surely the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he was." It cannot be explained in a few sentences here, but seek more knowledge by clicking on this link. Suffice to say that you use your intellect to analyze the verse and ask "What is the likeness of Jesus with Adam?" Did they have mothers? Were they born as babies in this world? Note also that the command of Kun - Be, was issued after (thumma) creation, hence all of the points 1 - 5 above are satisfied in the creation of Jesus (Isa).

Here are the facts that pertains to Yahya (John) and the Companion of Mary (One and the Same)

Note: these are some of the same characteristics that were given to John (Yahya). See Chapter 19 verses 12-15 and compare verses 30 - 33.

Muhammad, the Messenger of God

Najran Deputation

Here is a little known fact that are being hidden from the Muslims. A group of Christian emissaries from the southern part of Arabia came for a discussion with the Messenger of God, Muhammad. The delegation stayed at the Mosque of the Holy Messenger. This narration is in Sirat-ul-Halabi (Allama Burhan-ud-Din Halabi, Sirat-ul-Halabi, Vol. 3 : 4. See also Asrar-ul-Muhammadia of Ahmad Zeeni, Vol. 2 : 211),. The point at issue was the divinity of Jesus. Abdul Masih, the leader of the Christians, opened the discussion and enquired from the Holy Messenger:

Delegation: 'What do you think of our Lord (Sahib)?'

The Messenger of God: 'Who is your Lord?'

Delegation: 'Isa. Do you take him to be a servant of God?'

The Messenger of God: 'Yes.'

Delegation: 'Have you seen any one like him, or have you been informed of a man like him? He is God because he had no father, he raised the dead, he gave information of the unseen, he cured lepers and made birds from clay. Consider this superiority. Do you still call him a servant of God?'"

The Holy Messenger then received Divine revelation which included the following verse:

"Surely the likeness of Jesus is with Allah as the likeness of Adam; He created him from dust, then said, Be, and he was" (The Holy Quran, 3 : 59).

It should be noted that the verse does not say that the creation of Jesus was like that of Adam. What is quoted below is the discussion from Tafsir Ibn Jarir at-Tabari where it is recorded in full detail under this very verse (Tafsir Ibn-i-Jarir at-Tabari, Vol. 3: 100-101):

Delegation: 'Who was his father?'

The Messenger of God: 'Don't you know that no child is born but has a likeness to its father in form and appearance?'

Delegation: 'Yes, we know.'

Introduction, Biblical Evidence, Quranic Evidence, Prophet Muhammad, Reason and Logic

Reason and Logic

God: What Race, Color
If God, the creator of the heaven and the earth, who created many beings before the advent of man on earth, if He should have an offspring, of what form and appearance, color, race should this son be? Did he not created all equally?
A Clone from a Female
If a child was born without the aid of a father, whether conjugal or invitro, then that child must be a clone of it's parent. A woman can only produce a clone of herself. Jesus was certainly a Man. Is John the father of Jesus? The question should be 'who else'? The needle of the compass is pointing straight at him! (See Matt 16:14; Luke 9:7; Mark 8:28) We will apply the tracking system then relate his DNA with the embryo that was within Mary which she developed and its evolvement resulted in Jesus. A woman by herself cannot produce a male, she has only an X chromosome, which codes for a female. A male intervention is needed for a Y chromosome to be introduced, which codes for a male and Jesus was a Man. The Bible prophecy was for The Seed Of David (Spermatos Dauid - in Greek John 7:42). Note that the Greek word preserved the essence of what Jesus was created from - spermatos Dauid.
Lineage from The Father
There are many testimonies that required the the father of Jesus be from the descendants of the Jewish King, David. Many attempts were made to grant Jesus a foster father in Joseph, whom they say is from the lineage of David, yet in two different gospels, Joseph father was stated as being different persons (Like 3:23 ; Matt. 1:16)
"I Am" - God's Name
Look at this argument, not from a religious point of view, but from a logical, grammatical and linguistic point of view. If someone wants to say they were before someone then they would use past tense, not past tense and present tense. Christians claim that Jesus existed before he was born as a man because of a statement made in John 8:58 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.". Compare this with Exodus 3: 13-15, when Moses asked God "Who should I say sent me?" God said, say I AM sent you, "this is My name forever and my memorial unto all generations." The statement then becomes "Before Abraham was God"
God, Unlike anything
If there is an Almighty God, when should he decide that he now needs a son? After millions of years of creation and evolution of species on the earth, countless dinosaurs and other extinct species, does it make any sense that He would then create a man and his wife from mud, then spread him through the earth. After many thousands of years, decides that "Now I need to send my only begotten son that he may die a ransomed sacrifice that the rest of mankind might be saved". What kind of God can this be? Is this what He is or what we want Him to be, or it this is what we have made Him to be. This is a human concept of feeling absolved because someone else has paid for our sins. Very sad indeed it is that we have reduced The Originator of the heavens and the earth to this. Glory be to Him above all that they ascribe to Him. (Subhaanallahi amma yushrikoon).
Begets not nor Begotten
Muslims swear that the embodiment of their faith is expressed in Surah Iklas (Quran 112), which states "Say He Allah is One....He Begets not nor is He Begotten. And none is like unto Him". If then Jesus Begets not, nor is he Begotten, as most Muslims believe, IS JESUS NOT LIKE GOD? Which other being has this quality if not God Himself as he testifies in Chapter 112? For the Quran to be true as stated in Chapter 112 (He Begets not nor is He Begotten) and verse 13:38 (We did send messengers before thee and appointed for them wives and children), then Jesus must be begotten of a being of his likeness, the likeness of Adam (3:59). The logic here is that nothing is like God and John and Jesus were Prophets of God and must have wives and offspring as stipulated in 10:38. (Muslims believe that this is the reason Jesus must come back into this world. How about John (Yahya)?
Woman - not Mother of...
Many would worship Mary as the "Mother of God", yet for all, the son of Mary called her "WOMAN". (John 19:26, John 2:4)
Jehovah's Son?
For those who claim that they know the true name of God, and they insist that others has forgotten the name of God and accused other Christians of removing the name of God from the Bible, I ask, Did Jesus know the Name of God? If so show anywhere in your version of the Bible, that Jesus said that he is the son of Yahweh or son of Jehovah? Can you say for certain that the voice from heaven (Matt 3:17), at the Baptism, was the voice of Jehovah? Look again at Matt 3:3, the 'voice' is that of John.
Who's Passion is it?
With such turmoil over the movie, Passion of the Christ, one gets the feeling that the world may erupt with anti Semitism. The real issue is not who is to be blamed for putting Jesus on the Cross, for the Quran says that they did not crucify him nor did they kill him. Hence the Jews are not guilty of killing him (Quran 4:157). It is a battle of will. Whose Will? "Thy will be done on earth" (Matt. 6:10). The Jews were trying to prove that the Messiah cannot die, the Catholics and most Christians had made Jesus a God besides the Almighty. Most Muslims say "How dare you ascribe a father to Jesus?". Many Christians say "How dare you ascribe a father other than God?". The Jews say "The Messiah cannot be God or the son of God. He must be a man of the seed of David, the Moshiac ben David". Is that not the Gospel Truth?
