Commentary
| Point 1 |
We need to pay heed to the word "CREATED". The Arabic of which is Khalaq. It is used only one time in the whole of verse 3:59. That is in Sentence "B". Not in Sentence "A" nor in Sentence "C". And this is the word we are laboring upon
| Point 2 |
In Sentence "A", the word likeness is used. meaning Jesus was of the likeness of Adam. God did not say that Jesus was created the same way as Adam was created. The comparison is in their person, not in their creation. There is complete absence of the word "created" in Sentence "A"
What is important to take note of - and we are jumping the gun a little - is the sequence of the words of Sentence "C". Look at the words used before the words "Be" (kun). The first word is thumma, which means then or thereafter. Way before in Sentence "B", God tells us that He created Jesus. By the time we get to Sentence "C", to the word "Kun!", Jesus was already created. After creating him (Jesus), then (thumma) God said "Kun!" There is absolutely nothing to support the belief that "Kun" was used in the creation of Jesus. Something was used indeed, but it was not "Kun". That something used was "turab".
Let me prove this to be true. By the chronological order of God's Words, the Verse does not state that God caused the creation of Jesus by His utterance of the word "Kun!". Oh no! If so, who was the "him" referred to by God , in His statement "then said He unto him Kun! Fa yakoon"
This shows that "kun" was breathed into a being that was already created by God and which already existed . Whether in life-form it was merely, at the time, a sperm-drop (nutfah) or a completely developed fetus it was soul-endowed, alive and potent. And that the being into whom "kun" was administered, he was a "him", all this prior to God issuing the command "Be" to the said "him" for fa yakoon to take effect.
