Mary's Pregnancy
Jesus, Son of Mary and John

Taking a closer look at Mary's pregnancy

QUR'AN
Laden (pregnant)
BIBLE
"Then she came with him to her people bearing him. They said, 'O Mary, thou hast surely committed a disgraceful thing!'"
"O sister of Aaron, thy father was not an evil man, nor was thy mother an unchaste woman!"
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem;
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
Note:
These verses relate to the final stage of Mary's pregnancy, just prior to delivery. There was nothing odd over how Jesus was conceived and developed in the body of Mary. Nothing about her pregnancy was unusual or went amiss from inception to conclusion.

Analyzing Quran 19:27
Original Quranic Text (literally translated):
Arabic Transliteration
Literal translation
FA-
Then
'ATAT BI- -HI
she brought him
QAWM -HAA
to her people
TAH.MILU -HU
bearing him (Rodwell)
QAALO
They said
YAA MARYAM
O Mariam!
LA- QAD JI'TI
thou surely has done
SHAY'(AN) FAREY(AN)
a disgraceful thing.
Yusuf Ali's translation

'At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: O Mary! truly an amazing thing thou hast brought!'

A misleading translation!

Taking a second look at Yusuf Ali's translation

Misinterpretation

Critical Errors Translation Betrayal (A Betrayal to Muslims)
1. At length This implies the duration of time beyond the span of the same day. 'fa' = immediate action; 'thumma' = delayed action
2. Brought the (babe) This is a statement that Mary had already given birth.
3. Carrying him (in her arms) Was the babe outside in the arms of Mary or inside her body? Tahmiluhu means bearing not carrying.
4. An amazing thing thou hast brought!
Mary was accused of have done not brought a thing!

Taking a look at the translation of relevant words elsewhere

Word Usage:
Arabic Words
Translation in other parts of Qur'an
1. TAHMILUHU
"God doth know what every female (womb) bear" 13: 8.
"And no female conceives (tahmilu) or lays down (her load) (tada-uh)." 35: 11.
Nor does a female conceive (tahmilu) (within her womb) nor bring forth (tada-uh) (her young) 41: 47.
2. JEHTI
"Truly a strange thing hast thou done" (Jehta) 18: 71
"Truly a foul thing hast thou done" (Jehta) 18: 74

Two Distinct Him
Verse 19:27 expounds manifestly that:
1. Mary was heavily laden, experiencing unbearable pains of child-birth
2. She was in accompaniment with a 'him' from the palm tree to the village of her people. He was seen by her folks and could have exchanged words with them.
3. The other 'him' was her unborn child.
4. She was accused of having done a misdeed , not brought an amazing thing.

Mary: A LEVITE
Verse 19:28 expounds as per Mary:
O sister of Aaron, thy father was not an evil man, nor was thy mother an unchaste woman!'
Sister of Aaron A Levite, Not of David's ancestory
Thy father A mortal - she was not fatherless
Thy mother a human - she was not motherless
Chaste Even after child-bearing
Woman Hannah's (Mary's mother) chastity was preserved by lawful husbandhood

From the relevant quotations above, we can conclude the following about Mary's Pregnancy:

1. She had to bear him (tahmiluhu).
2. She was a wife (Luke 2:5).
3. Being great with child.
4. The days were accomplished.
5. That she should be delivered.
6. Accused of having done a disgraceful thing.
