Son Of God
Jesus, Son of Mary and John

A Quest to find the god of whom Jesus is the son of

The Gospel Of St. John:

10:30 I and my Father are one.
10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

The Feast of the Dedication:

At the Feast of the Dedication while in the temple in Solomon's porch in Jerusalem, Jesus annoyed the Jews by his saying 'I and my Father are one.'

Jews: 'Thou blasphesest because that thou being a man thou makest thyself God.'
Jesus: 'Is it not written in your law, (Psalm 82:6) I said ye are gods? If he called them gods UNTO WHOM THE WORD OF GOD CAME, and the Scripture cannot be broken, say ye of me, I blasphemest because I said I am the Son of God?'
Question: Did Jesus meant that he was the Son of God Almighty, or Jahovah or Yahweh?
Answer:

No. He took time in quoting the Law to support his explanation!

The Proof:

St. Luke in 3:1-2 solves the riddle most beautifully by his testimony:

'Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pilate being Governor, Herod being Tetrarch, Annas and Caiaphas being High Priests, THE WORD OF GOD CAME UNTO JOHN, THE SON OF ZACHARIAS IN THE WILDERNESS.'

To The Point:

By the scriptural law of the Jews, relevant still in Jesus' time, he unto whom the word of God came was called God.

The Relevancy of God, Who was he.

During the time of Jesus: The word of God came unto John, son of Zachariah.
Therefore: John had to be regarded as God then, by Law.
Jesus said: I am the son of God.
Meaning:

He was the son of John.

The Bone Of Contention:

Jesus said: 'I and my Father are one.' (John 10:30)
Poignancy: 'that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him.' (John 10:38)
Jews reaction: They picked up stones but could not stone him. They were dumbfounded, astonished at his doctrine, his true and wise interpretation of their Law. For they understood him and had to concede to it that he meant that he was son of:

'he unto whom the word of God came.'

Qur'anic Support:

The word of God came to John, viz:

'O John take hold of the Book'. 19:12

'Surely, I am a Servant of Allah, He has given me the Book and made me a Prophet.' 19: 30

Comments:

Jesus Defense of the claim that he is the Son of God:

Look carefully here in the different translations, Jesus is saying that: according to your Law (Psalm 82:6), those to whom the word of God came to or to whom the message of God came to, these were called Gods. And this was according to Jewish Law. Now, God the Almighty, would not send the word to Himself, but to a messenger (a Prophet) among men. These men were called Gods and the Most High or High Priests; these were titles given to them.
