Joseph, the carpenter:

Was he the husband of Mary and the father of Jesus? Christians: that is a 'cover-up', a camouflage.

According to the Qur'an, Mary was married by God, not to God! Who is Joseph?

Matthew 1: 18-25:

1.
Mary was espoused to Joseph.
2.
She was with child before relationship.
3.
He meant to break off to avoid shame.
4.
God's angel counseled him not to.
5.
For Mary's child is of the Holy Ghost.

Perplexity of Christians!

Mary was under vows of celibacy to live as a nun in the church all the days of her life.

Why was she betrothed to Joseph, an age-old man long before it was known that she was pregnant? That is not a 'cover up', that is 'foul play'.

Quran: Mary was an Imranite (of the tribe of Levi). The Messiah had to be of the tribe of Judah. Mary's ancestry could not prove Jesus' blood link to David.

Jews: Joseph is a fictitious substitute of linkage improvised by Paul.

Feast of the Passover in the temple of Jerusalem - Luke 2: 48-52

2:41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover.
2:42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
2:43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
2:44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
2:45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
2:46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
2:47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
2:48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
2:50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
2:51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Jesus in reply to Mary: 'Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?' Mary understood him and kept the saying in her heart. He was preaching the Gospel. He was not doing the trade of carpentry. John was "preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins." (Luke 3: 3.) In whose business was Jesus engaged? Joseph or John's ? That was his secret communication to his mother. Her silence was her admission. For those who would claim that God is his father, then the question is "What is God's business").

Luke versus Allah

Luke 2:1-5: states that Mary was with Joseph in Bethlehem, 'to be taxed with Mary, his espoused wife being great with child.'

Question: Why did he take Mary there? Because he, not she was of the house and lineage of David!

Quran 19: 23-33: states that Mary was in a remote place where there was a stream and palm tree when the child-pains came on her. The individual who was with her was (a) a Prophet and (b) he who was given the Book. Joseph was neither (a) nor (b).

To Muslims: Who would you believe? Luke or Allah? Even Matthew, Mark and John discredited the account of Luke! And Allah completely ignored Joseph's alleged relationship with Mary! Where is Joseph, the carpenter, mentioned in the Qur'an?

The truth: John was foot to foot in attendance upon Mary from the moment Jesus was conceived unto his birth.

John: He was of the house and lineage of David. He had to 'pave the way'. The mussidique of Allah's kalimat. ( The criterion by which the true claimant is identified. In other words, the fulfillment of a Promise from God.)

Joseph: Not a mention of him in the Qur'an or in the Old Testament. He was non-existent, a non-entity. Invented to fill the gap to prove Jesus' link to David. To enlighten the mystery of Joseph, the Bible cannot even agree on who was the Father of Joseph. Matthew 1:16 states

1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

While Luke 3:23 states:

3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

Jesus: He was the Messiah, definitely. Christians and Muslims believe him as such. As the Messiah he can be neither God's Son nor fatherless. By root, seed and blood the Messiah is linked to David - as described in the Old and New Testaments. Joseph is therefore the counterfeit.

A saying: 'Behind every counterfeit is an original.' Who?

'John was the horn of Salvation of David's house.'
