The 5th of the 10 Commandments: "Honor thy father and thy mother."
Jesus: 'Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother... (Mark 10:19)
If Jesus' coming was not to destroy, but to fulfill the Law, why would he have preached what he could not have practiced?
Jesus: "I honor my Father...... If I honor myself, my honor is nothing; it is my Father that honoreth me; of whom ye say that he is your God. Yet he have not known him; but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you." (John 8:54-55)
"The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seest the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. I can of mine own self do nothing; as I hear I judge; and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. He was a burning and a shining light; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light." (John 5:19-)
The language of Jesus regarding John:
"And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out in the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings houses. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." Matthew 11: 7-15
The language of John regarding Jesus:
"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
"And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!" John 1:29
John 1: 26 "I baptize with water; but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose."
John 3: 28 - 35 "Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ (Messiah), but I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.
