Surah Mariam: Verses 8, 9, 10 and 11
Jesus, Son of Mary and John

"8. He said: 'O my Lord! How shall I have a son when my wife is

barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?'

9. He said: 'So (it will be); thy Lord saith 'that is easy for Me: I did

indeed create thee before when thou hadst been nothing!'

10. (Zakariya) said, 'O my Lord! Give me a Sign.' 'Thy Sign' was

the answer, 'shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights

although thou art not dumb.'

11. So Zakariya came out to his people from his chamber: he told

them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the

evening."

(See Below for Other translations and Arabic)

Kazaaliq: (9)

This implies that:

1. Allah acknowledged the impediments exactly as identified
2. His attendance is directed to the solution of the problems.
3. Not by circumventing them by an act of His Power
4. But by curative treatment as a demonstration of His Mercy.

The Proof

Zakariya said:

'My wife is barren'.
Allah said:

'We cured his wife for him'. (21: 90)

Kazaaliq: Precisely so.
Aliya haiyinun: That's easy for Me (God)
Question

When God said, 'That's easy for Me?' What did He mean? To cure Elizabeth or for him to give Zakariya a son motherless? I draw attention to this because the exact words re-occur in 19: 21 (below) regarding Mary.

Sawiyya:

God declared Zachariah to have been in 'sound health' although he was rendered speechless. It is remarkable that the exact word is used to describe Ruhanna the being that confronted Mary in 19: 17 (below).

I draw attention to this too because it will re-occur and by it the meaning of 'basharan sawiyya' would be correctly understood.
