101. To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: how can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things and He hath full knowledge of all things. |
| Pickthall |
101. The Originator of the heavens and the earth! How can He have a child, when there is for Him no consort, when He created all things and is Aware of all things? |
| Shakir |
101. Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things. |
| Comments |
Note: Allah, The Most High, is saying here that the condition under which he cannot have a son, is that there is no consort (saahibah) for him. Surely Allah can do anything he pleases and He created all things. Take a second look at why He cannot have a son and compare it to the statement that Mary made in Chapter 19:20, saying 'How can I have a son when no man has touched me nor have I been unchaste.'
It stands to reason that Since Allah is Greater than Mary, and Allah cannot have a son without a consort (Saahibah(t) - female), then Mary cannot have a son without a consort (male). The fact is that Allah can do anything, yet states that the condition under which he cannot have a son is that there is no mate for Him. We agree that Allah can do anything, but note the restrition. How then can Mary have a son without a consort since even Allah stipulates the condition for having a son. Allah does not defy His Own Laws.
