Messengers (Prophets) are granted wives and descendants: Chapter 13:38
|

38. WA- LA- QAD ARSALNAA RUSUL(AN) MIN QABLI -KA WA- JAcALNAA LA- -HUM AZWAAJ(AN) WA- DHURREYAH WA- MAA KAANA LI- RASOL 'AN YA'TIYA BI- 'AAYAH 'ILLAA BI- 'IDHN 'ALLAAH LI- KULL 'AJAL KITAAB

38. We did send apostles before thee and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of an apostle to bring a Sign except as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed).

38. And verity We sent messengers (to mankind) before thee, and We appointed for them wives and offspring, and it was not (given) to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave. For everything there is a time prescribed. |

38 . And certainly We sent apostles before you and gave them wives and children, and it is not in (the power of) an apostle to bring a sign except by Allah's permission; for every term there is an appointment. |

84. We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) We guided: and before him We guided Noah and before him We guided Noah and among his progeny David Solomon Job Joseph Moses and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good: |

84. And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob; each of them We guided; and Noah did We guide aforetime; and of his seed (We guided) David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the good. |

4. Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest O my Lord in my prayer to Thee! |

Note: Zachariah's prayer is preserved and mentioned in
- 3:38, he prayed for MIN LADUN -KA DHURREYAH T.AYYIBAH (from Thee a progeny that is pure.
- 19:5, he prayed for MIN LADUN -KA WALEY(AN) (give me an heir as from Thyself). (Note: the word waley means to be near, or close to, like a friend is close)
- 21:89, he prayed LAA TADHAR -NE FARD(AN) (leave me not without offspring).The word farad means alone, by itself, solitary.

6. Who should inherit me and inherit from the children of Yaqoub, and make him, my Lord, one in whom Thou art well pleased. |

Note that Zakariya paryed for some that will "inherit" (and continue) Jacob. Since Allah said in 19:4 that Zakariya said that he has never been unblessed in his Dua' (prayers) therefore any progeny must allow the continuation of this process and cannot be removed from this worls without continuing this process (until Allah Please). |

7. (His prayer was answered): "O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: his name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before."
